Newgrange, County Meath, Ireland

If you want to visit the large megalithic passage tomb of Newgrange, try to clamber over some stonewalls and empty fields and walked right in. Then you will find the burial chamber at the center of the monument.
This magical and mystical site provided the space, time and peace for one’s imagination to wonder about the ancient culture that built it. The narrow tunnel to the central interior was built so that on the winter solstice the sun shone through a box over the entrance to light up the main chamber. Newgrange is no longer an obscure spot in the countryside. There is extensive conservation work carried out here some years ago. You can also go to Visitor and Heritage Centre to know more about the history.
